Dr. Michael Smith
Graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He founded Evans Mill Animal Hospital in Lithonia in 1979. Dr. Smith’s interests outside of veterinary medicine include reading, collecting antiques, and traveling. He has two dogs, Skye and Dusty, and a menagerie of parrots.
Dr. Tracey Harwell
Graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She practiced in the Athens, Georgia area for 10 years before joining Evans Mill Animal Hospital in Lithonia in 2003. She enjoys reading, travel, and cross-stitch. She shares her home with the canine Lance, the felines Aspen and Teton, the equine Champ, and the outlaw goats Butch and Sundance.
Has been at Evans Mill Animal Hospital since day one. She started as receptionist, veterinary assistant, kennel tech, and all around right hand. Over thirty years later, she remains the pleasant voice on the phone and smiling face at the reception desk. Jan has four pets: Kizzy, Kobie, Maddie, and Riley.
Joined Evans Mill Animal Hospital close to thirty years ago as the sole veterinary assistant and continues today as practice manager and chief problem solver. You will often hear Dr. Smith exclaim, “LEE!” when in need of assistance or information. Lee has two Standard Poodles, Gracie and Gabbie.
Was a longtime client before she joined the Evans Mill Animal Hospital team in 1994, and worked for ten years. After a brief hiatus working in human medicine, then as a stay-at-home-Mom, she came back in 2008 and now works part time filling in wherever needed. Tracy has two children that keep her quite busy.
Joined the Evans Mill Animal Hospital team in 2008, having worked as a veterinary assistant for three years previously. A true multi-tasker, she keeps a close eye on every area of patient care, with your pet’s complete comfort her abiding mission. Rosie takes care of many cats, but her love is Lollipop and Brinks.
Joined the Evans Mill Animal Hospital team in 2011 after having been a client for many years. Her positive attitude and natural ability with animals has quickly made her a promising addition to the team. Lauren has a very active Tyson.
Has been an award-winning groomer in the Atlanta area for 37 years, and began at Evans Mill Animal Hospital in 1988. Patience is essential while grooming a wiggly, scruffy puppy and she has it in abundance.
